Spectator locations
The City of Newport Half Marathon is a great route for spectators, please see the details below:
- The Start – opposite Friars Walk on the Riverfront of the River Usk you can watch the start at 9am
- Mile 1 – Costa Coffee by the SDR Bridge
- Mile 3 – Newport Bridge & The Cenotaph
- Mile 4 – Caerleon Road
- Mile 5 – The St Julian’s Inn
- Mile 6 – Caerleon Amphitheatre
- Mile 9 – Sainsbury’s Hill
- Mile 10 – The Riverfront Theatre / Millenium Bridge
- Mile 10 – Hortons Coffee Shop
- Mile 12 – The Blaina Wharf
- Mile 13 – Castle Bingo
The Finish Line
Once the runners have finished, they enter a ‘sterile’ area where they collect their medal, water, snacks, fruit and free beer from Tiny Rebel together with t-shirt (if requested). St John’s Ambulance officers are on hand for any runners who require assistance.
Meeting Point
We strongly recommend that the meet and greet area is to the front of the University Building.

- Start/Finish -Friars Walk & City Centre – Multiple options available
- Mile 3 (Newport Bridge) – The Riverside Pub (Open from 9am)
